Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, expects that the Friday´s Extraordinary Meeting of the Parliament will be held under a Regular Procedure

Commenting upon the essence of issues to be scrutinized on Friday, V.Lytvyn stated that he addressed the Prime Minister and the Head of the BYuT Faction in a written form with a request "to regulate the procedure and initiating and holding the extraordinary meetings".

According to V.Lytvyn, 41 issues are to be scrutinized at the meeting. "The right of the initiators is beyond any doubt, however, they understand that only one morning meeting till 2 p.m. will be held, - he stated. However, the practice demonstrates that such a number of issues can be scrutinized within one plenary week, on condition the Parliament works thoroughly".

V.Lytvyn stressed that the issues suggested for scrutiny must be properly prepared. Out of 41 documents mentioned, only 13 were scrutinized at the parliamentary Committees, some of the Bills being withdrawn by the Government or forwarded for further drafting.
